Patrick Mertens

Patrick Mertens has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Patrick began their career at DocCheck, where they worked as a Praktikant and later as an Informatikkaufmann. Patrick then transitioned to the role of Junior Marketing Manager eCommerce.

In 2016 and 2017, Patrick gained valuable experience through summer internships at Mercedes-Benz AG and BASF, respectively.

From 2016 to 2020, Patrick served as a Wissenschaftliche Hilfskraft at the Chair of B2B Marketing, Sales & Pricing at the University of Mannheim. Patrick continued their academic career as a Wissenschaftliche Hilfskraft at the Chair of Marketing & Innovation at the same university from 2017 until 2020.

In 2020, Patrick joined the Universität Mannheim as a Wissenschaftliche Hilfskraft at the Chair of Economic and Business Education, and later at the Chair of Business Administration and Taxation II.

Their most recent position is as a Business Development Manager at Aivy, where they utilize their skills to drive growth and development. Prior to this role, they also worked as a B2B Business Developer and Growth Hacker at the same company.

Patrick Mertens' education history starts in 2008 when they completed their Ausbildung (training) in Informatikkaufmann (IT business management) from Akademie für Datenverarbeitung. From 2012 to 2014, they attended Berufliche Schule Riedlingen and earned their Allgemeine Hochschulreife (general higher education entrance qualification) in Wirtschaftsoberschule (business school).

In 2014, they enrolled at the University of Mannheim, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Economic and Business Education. This program lasted until 2018.

For further education, Patrick travelled to the Graduate School of Management St. Petersburg State University in 2019 for a semester abroad. There, they studied Master in Management.

Returning to the University of Mannheim, Patrick pursued a Master of Science degree in Economic and Business Education from 2018 to 2021.

Aside from their degrees, Patrick obtained the Ausbildungseignungsprüfung certification from the Industrie- und Handelskammer (Chambers of Commerce & Industry) in April 2019.
