Pieter Abbeel

Pieter Abbeel is a Co-Founder, President, and Chief Scientist at covariant.ai, where Pieter utilizes recent advances in Deep Imitation Learning and Deep Reinforcement Learning to develop AI software for teaching robots new skills. Pieter is also a Professor at the University of California, Berkeley, focusing on research and teaching in artificial intelligence and robotics. In addition, Pieter serves as an Investment Partner at AIX Ventures and hosts The Robot Brains Podcast, where Pieter explores AI Robotics with experts from around the world. Prior to their current roles, Pieter was a Co-Founder of Gradescope and a Research Scientist at OpenAI. Pieter holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Stanford University, among other degrees.
