Richard Kirton has a diverse work experience in the field of automation and robotics. Richard started their career as a Junior Control Systems Engineer at Jendamark Automation in January 2019, where they worked until August 2019. Richard then joined the Werkzeugmaschinenlabor, WZL der RWTH Aachen as a Student Assistant in December 2019. In this role, they were involved in implementing SLAM, motion planning, and object recognition for mobile robots using ROS and Python. Richard also conducted experiments to test industrial 5G networks and assisted in research paper preparation.
In 2022, Richard interned as a Robotics Intern at INVITE GmbH from July to December. Currently, they are working as a Junior Software Developer Automation at AIXTRON SE, starting from February 2023.
Richard Kirton pursued their Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering from Nelson Mandela University from 2015 to 2018. Richard then continued their education at RWTH Aachen University from 2019 to 2022, where they obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, and Computer Engineering.
