Alan Collis

Alan Collis has over 30 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Alan currently serves as the Vice President of Integrated Drug Discovery at Syngene International Limited, where they lead the SynVent team in advancing novel molecules into clinical trials through collaboration across multiple disciplines.

Prior to joining Syngene International Limited, Alan was the Senior Vice President of Preclinical Development at Nimbus Therapeutics from 2019 to 2021. Alan also worked as an Independent Consultant specializing in clinical and preclinical DMPK and preclinical safety in 2018.

From 2015 to 2018, Alan served as the Executive Director of DMPK at FORMA Therapeutics, Inc. Before that, they were the President of the InnovaTID Institute for Drug Creation, a nonprofit organization bridging ideas and capabilities in academia, biotech, pharma, and medical communities.

Alan Collis began their career at Pfizer in 1987, where they held the role of Senior Research Associate. Alan later worked as the Director of Medicinal Chemistry at Rhône Poulenc Rorer and the Senior Director of US Chemistry at Sanofi-Aventis.

From 2005 to 2011, Alan worked at Novartis as the Executive Director of Scientific and Strategic Planning and Global Leader of Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics group (MAP). Alan played a key role in project strategy, chemistry direction, and business planning as a member of the Global Discovery Chemistry Senior Leadership team.

Throughout their career, Alan has demonstrated leadership in various areas of drug discovery and development, with expertise in medicinal chemistry, DMPK, preclinical safety, and strategic planning.

Alan Collis completed their education at the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology. Alan earned their Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree in Chemistry in the years 1982 to 1984. Following that, they continued their studies at the same institute and obtained their PhD in Chemistry from 1984 to 1987.
