Prior to this role, they were the Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer.

Rich earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Human Capital Development from The University of Southern Mississippi in the years 2007 to 2012. Prior to that, they obtained an MBA in General Business from Auburn University, studying from 2000 to 2002. Rich also holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Psychology and Spanish from Brigham Young University, which they completed between 1985 and 1987.

In addition to their academic degrees, Rich has obtained several certifications to enhance their professional skills. Rich achieved the Human Resources Project Manager certification from PROJECT MANAGEMENT RESOURCE GROUP, Inc. in May 2018. In June 2016, they became a Predictive Index Analyst. In September 2015, they earned the SPHR-SCP certification from the Society for Human Resources Management. Rich is also a Certified DISC Practitioner, having obtained their DISC Certification from Axiom in March 2013.
