Dr. Said Amali has 22 years of experience in providing technical expertise in water supply development and management and environmental pollution assessment and cleanup. His projects have been conducted for a wide range of industrial, municipal, and agricultural clients. Dr. Amali specializes in directing multidisciplinary and multiparty projects requiring long-range strategic planning and plan implementation oversight, and helps his clients to develop appropriate metric tools to gauge the success of their projects.
Dr. Amali has conducted many watershed and basin-scale water resources projects involving evaluations of groundwater flow and availability for water supply development, aquifer storage and recovery opportunities, hydrologic balance estimations of sustainable groundwater yields, groundwater flow and management modeling, surface water-groundwater interactions, groundwater quality changes associated with point- and nonpoint-pollution sources, impacts on fisheries resources, water system planning and engineering studies, and water rights.
In the environmental area, Dr. Amali has extensive background in contamination assessment and remediation. He has conducted many soil, sediment, and groundwater quality characterizations, data analysis, engineering feasibility studies, and quantitative modeling of organic and inorganic chemical fate and transport in soils and groundwater. He has specific expertise in evaluations of fate and transport of inorganic chemicals and metals, as well as dissolved, vapor, and nonaqueous-phase forms for petroleum hydrocarbons and industrial solvents. His background in applied soil science includes specialized expertise in vadose-zone assessments of liquid and vapor phase contaminant dispersal.
He studied Ph.D., Environmental Soil Physics from University of California-Davis.
