Bastiaan Boon

Bastiaan Boon is a seasoned conservation professional with extensive experience in operations management across various wildlife reserves in Africa. Currently serving as the Director of Operations at AfricaAkashinga since January 2025, Bastiaan is responsible for overseeing projects in Southern Africa. Previously, Bastiaan held the position of Conservation Manager for the Wildlife Conservation Society at the Niassa Special Reserve, where responsibilities included executing conservation activities. Additional roles include Directors of Operations at Gorongosa National Park, Field Operations Manager at both Iona National Park and Pendjari National Park, and Educational Tourism Manager at Kasanka Trust Ltd. Bastiaan Boon holds a Bachelor's of Technology and a National Diploma in Nature Conservation from the Cape Peninsula University of Technology.
