Aker BP ASA
Ivar Skjærpe is a highly experienced geoscientist with extensive expertise in reservoir geology and subsurface management, currently holding the position of Chief Reservoir Geologist at Aker BP ASA since November 2016. In this role, Ivar serves as Subsurface Lead and Senior Geoscientist for Trell & Trine, Volund, and Viper/Kobra, contributing to significant projects including the infill development sidetrack well on Volund in 2019. Prior to Aker BP ASA, Ivar worked at Det norske oljeselskap ASA as Subsurface Lead, overseeing the Bøyla project, and held a position as Advanced Senior Geoscientist at Marathon Oil Corporation. Earlier experience includes various geologic modeling roles at ExxonMobil, where Ivar contributed to North Sea production and international assets. Ivar’s career began as a Medical Officer in the Norwegian Army. Educational credentials include a Master’s degree in Petroleum Geoscience Engineering from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology and training as a Medical Officer from Befalsskolen for Hærens Sanitet.
