Nils-Andre Aarseth

Chief Petrophysicist at Aker BP ASA

Nils-Andre Aarseth has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies and roles. Nils-Andre started their career in 1999 as a Private in the Royal Norwegian Air Force. In 2000, they joined Schlumberger as a Wireline Field Engineer and later took on roles such as Senior Field Engineer and General Field Engineer, where they conducted wireline logging for various national and international oil companies. Nils-Andre also served as an Engineer in Charge for a remote Wireline base and received a recommendation from Statoil for their innovative use of well tractor technology. In 2004, they became the Lead Engineer for NAM/Shell, overseeing all wireline operations and training younger engineers. From 2007 to 2011, they worked as a North Sea Geomarked Data Consultancy Services Reservoir Team Leader, a Reservoir Domain Champion, and a Wireline Instructor at Schlumberger. In 2011, they joined Statoil as a Principal Petroleum Engineer Exploration, where they were responsible for planning and executing exploration drilling and well testing operations. In 2014, they moved to BP as a Senior Petrophysicist before joining Aker BP ASA in 2016. At Aker BP ASA, they have held various roles, including Senior Petrophysicist, Lead Petrophysicist, Petrophysics Manager, and currently serves as the Chief Petrophysicist.

Nils-Andre Aarseth started their education at the University of Bergen in 1993, where they studied Geology/Earth Science. Nils-Andre then transferred to the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in 1994 and graduated in 1999 with a Master's degree in Petroleum Geology.
