Aker Energy
Ståle Monstad joined Aker Energy in 2018 from the position as Chief Geologist for Exploration at Aker BP ASA.
Prior to joining Aker BP, Mr. Monstad worked as a Chief Geologist at Point Resources, Pure E&P and DNO ASA, where he also held the position as the Director for Subsurface. He started his career in Norsk Hydro, where he held several leading positions from 1994 to 2001, when he left the company in favour of Dong Energy.
Mr. Monstad holds a cand. scient. in sedimentology and sequence stratigraphy from the University of Bergen. Mr. Monstad is a Norwegian citizen.

Aker Energy AS was founded in February 2018 and is established as the newest member of the Aker Group. The E&P company aims to become the offshore oil and gas operator of choice in Ghana. It is characterized by the entrepreneurial and flexible organization that is synonymous with member companies of the Aker Group. Aker Energy is now operational with offices in Oslo and Accra, the capital of Ghana.
