Richard Bass possesses over 40 years of extensive experience in land use, zoning, community and economic development, as well as the political processes associated with these fields, primarily in the New York/New Jersey region. Currently serving as a Senior Planning & Development Consultant at Akerman LLP since February 2015, Richard specializes in complex rezoning, special permit, and variance applications for diverse clients. Previous roles include Chief Planning and Development Specialist at Herrick, Feinstein LLP, Planning Director for the City of Coral Gables, and Director of Planning for both Jersey City and the Manhattan Borough President's Office. In addition to practical experience, Richard served as an Adjunct Professor at Hunter College, focusing on urban planning topics for graduate students. Richard holds a Master's degree in Urban Planning from Hunter College and a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from the University of South Florida.
