Chamath Palihapitiya

Chair at Akili Interactive

Chamath is the founder of Social Capital, where he makes big bets on transformational ideas, technology, and people.

Since its founding in 2011, the Social Capital platform has made investments in technology companies, both public and private, at all stages from incubations, seed, and Series A rounds to growth capital, IPOs, and SPACs. In its first iteration, Social Capital raised traditional venture funds, backing companies like Slack, Box, and Relativity Space.

In 2018, the strategy transitioned primarily to a permanent capital model. Since then, Social Capital continues to make public and private investments, across climate science,

life sciences, crypto/decentralized finance, and deep tech more broadly. Social Capital supports entrepreneurship at all stages, with a focus on profit-minded opportunities and forward-thinking social investments that have the potential to shape a better future.
