Shawn Downs

Shawn Downs has worked in the tech industry for over 10 years. In 2010, they began their career as a Consultant at LoMain Tech and Web Application Developer at Information Distribution & Marketing, Inc. In 2011, they joined Primoris Services LLC as a Software Engineer. During their time there they led new development efforts, designed and implemented system enhancements, and solved Ops related problems. In 2017, they moved to Knoldus Inc as Principal Consultant, where they were responsible for ensuring dependencies were entered, planned, and worked appropriately, and worked with the Architecture Team in designing features and planning sprint work. In 2019, they joined EY as Manager - Consulting Tech Transformation. Most recently in 2021, they joined Lightbend, Inc. as Professional Services Manager and Embedded Lightbend Engineer.

Shawn Downs obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from Georgia Southern University between 2003 and 2007. In 2021, Shawn Downs obtained 11 certifications from Lightbend, Inc., including Lightbend Akka Cluster Fundamentals - Level 2, Lightbend Akka Streams for Scala Professional - Level 2, Lightbend Data Engineering: Cloudflow Principles - Level 2, Lightbend Telemetry Installation - Level 1, Reactive Architecture(1): Introduction to Reactive Systems, Reactive Architecture: Building Scalable Systems - Level 2, Reactive Architecture: CQRS and Event Sourcing - Level 2, Reactive Architecture: Distributed Messaging Patterns - Level 2, Reactive Architecture: Domain Driven Design - Level 2, Reactive Architecture: Reactive Microservices - Level 2, and Reactive Architect.
