Murat Sözcü

Murat Sözcü has a range of work experience spanning multiple industries. Murat started their career as a Co-Chairman at ODTÜ Genç Girişimciler Topluluğu (METU YES) from May 2014 to May 2018, where they represented the society, managed board members, and addressed deficiencies and malfunctions.

In 2019, Sözcü worked as a Production Engineer at Eti Maden İşletmeleri Genel Müdürlüğü, where they tracked and checked manufacturing processes, determined efficient production strategies, and conducted analyses and research on time, labor, and costs.

In 2020, they joined TÜMAŞ Türk Mühendislik, Müşavirlik ve Müteahhitlik A.Ş. as a Project Engineer. In this role, they designed mechanical layouts using AutoCAD, performed necessary calculations for engineering services, and determined insulation values and heat loss/gain using the Izoder program.

Sözcü also worked as a TAI-METU Very Light Aircraft Project Engineer (Intern) at Turkish Aerospace from July 2020 to August 2021. Murat'sresponsibilities included making arrangements in landing gear design, deciding on suitable materials, and analyzing stress, life, and force values using ANSYS Workbench.

Currently, Sözcü is employed at Aktif Bank as a Corporate Finance and Investments Specialist/Project Finance. Murat started their tenure in July 2021 as a Corporate Finance and Investments Assistant Specialist and was promoted to their current role in October 2022. Murat'stasks involve developing project models, preparing presentations for project financings and key strategic decisions, and participating in deal negotiations with investor companies.

Murat Sözcü started their education in 2010 at Balıkesir Üniversitesi, where they pursued an Associate's degree in Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Engineering Technology/Technician. Murat completed this program in 2012.

Following their time at Balıkesir Üniversitesi, Murat Sözcü enrolled at Orta Doğu Teknik Üniversitesi (Middle East Technical University) in 2013. Here, they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, which they completed in 2021.

In addition to their formal education, Murat Sözcü also obtained several certifications. In June 2021, they completed the Aviation Engines School offered by TEI - TUSAŞ Engine Industries, Inc. Murat also participated in the Online Development Days organized by IEEE METU Student Branch in March 2021 and obtained a certification. Furthermore, in February 2021, Murat Sözcü attended the Management and Engineering Days organized by METU Productivity Club and also obtained a certification.
