Andreu Arderiu i Romero has held a variety of roles in the field of machine learning and data analytics. In 2023, they began their current role as a Machine Learning Engineer at Aktiia. From 2021-2023, they were Co-founder & Head of Applied Science at SightIn Health, where they developed a library of image processing and deep learning algorithms and a real-time guidance system. Andreu was also Co-Founder of Dust AI in 2021, where they provided machine learning, data analytics, and explainable AI consulting, and developed and taught a machine learning course. In 2020, they were a Data, Analytics & AI Intern at Swisscom, where they developed a library of anomaly detection algorithms and released a pipeline for automatic, real-time, anomaly detection and flagging. In 2020, they were a Research Assistant at Ecole polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne, Laboratoire d'economie urbaine et de l'environnment, where they developed an agent-based model in Python coupling tenants’ decisions with those of the owners in the Swiss housing market. In 2019, they were a Research Intern at Centre de Recerca Matemàtica, Computational & Mathematical biology group. In 2018, they were a Research Intern at Durham University, Biophysical Sciences Institute (BSI), where they developed a mathematical model to simulate optic nerve damage conditions and obtained promising results for Glaucoma disease prevention. In 2017, they were a Research Intern at Centre de Recerca Matemàtica, Computational & Mathematical Biology group, where they developed numerical simulations to study the dynamics of RNA viruses replication in infections and obtained novel results published in a paper. Andreu was also a Camp Instructor at Kids&Us Sant Andreu de la Barca in 2017, where they were responsible for a group of 20 children aged 10-13 years old and responsible to coordinate a group of leaders fo theatre shows with +100 attendees.
Andreu Arderiu i Romero completed a BSc in Mathematics & Physics from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona between 2014 and 2019. Andreu then went on to pursue a BSc in Mathematics & Physics from Durham University from 2017 to 2018. Since 2019, they have been pursuing an MSc in Applied Mathematics - Statistics from the EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne).
