Shahid Sumar

Shahid Sumar is an accomplished information technology executive with over 25 years of experience in the banking sector. Currently serving as the Chief Information Officer at Al Baraka Bank Pakistan Ltd. since May 2018, Shahid has played a pivotal role in representing the IT Division on various forums and is an active member of the IT Steering Committee and Management Committee. Previous leadership positions include Chief Information Officer at Bank Makramah Ltd. from April 2011 to April 2018 and Head of IT Operations & BI at Summit Bank Limited from June 2006 to May 2011. Shahid's career began at Samba Bank Ltd., where roles included Acting Head of IT and Head of IT Operations & MIS. Shahid holds a Master's degree in Computer Science with a specialization in Software Engineering from the Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science and Technology and a Bachelor's degree in Commerce from Karachi University.
