Shiva Shankar

Shiva Shankar is a Clinical Associate Professor of Neonatology at Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences since December 2020, and currently serves as the Head of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Latifa Maternity & Paediatric Hospital from March 2024. Previous positions include Consultant Neonatologist and Head of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Al Jalila Children's Specialty Hospital, as well as Consultant Neonatologist and Clinical Director at The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust. Shiva has also held a Consultant Neonatologist role at University Hospitals of North Staffordshire NHS Trust and at Royal Derby Hospital. As a Vice Chair for the MRCPCH examination at the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, Shiva possesses extensive expertise in the field. Educational qualifications include degrees in Neonatology and Paediatric Medicine from the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, along with an MBBS from Government Medical College Bellary.
