Thomas Calvert I 唐牧 I توم كالفرت is a highly experienced legal professional specializing in corporate commercial law, particularly in Iraq and the MENA region. Currently serving as Partner and Head of Corporate Commercial Iraq and Head of the China Group at Al Tamimi & Company since April 2022, Thomas provides extensive advisory services to clients on investments and operations in Iraq and assists Chinese companies with legal issues in MENA. Prior to this role, Thomas was a Partner at Confluent Law Group from January 2017 to April 2022, focusing on investments in Iraq across sectors such as infrastructure and energy. Additional experience includes serving as an Associate at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in the global energy and natural resources practice, as well as previous Associate positions at Vinson and Elkins and Slaughter and May. Thomas holds a MA in Politics from The University of Edinburgh and a PGDL from BPP Law School, with previous education at Jilin University and The King's School Canterbury.
