Brian Hale

General Counsel at Alabama Department of Public Health

Brian Hale is currently the General Counsel at the Alabama Department of Public Health. Prior to this, they served as a staff attorney to Judge John Crawley at the Alabama Court of Civil Appeals from July 2002 to July 2004. Brian then served as a staff attorney to Justice Gorman Houston at the Supreme Court of Alabama from July 2004 to November 2004. From January 2001 to July 2002, they served as both a law clerk and staff attorney to Justice Bernard Harwood at the Supreme Court of Alabama. Brian also spent time as a law clerk at the Circuit Court of Montgomery County, Alabama from June 2000 to December 2000, where they also served as special master in pendente lite hearings (domestic/child support). Brian Hale has also spent time interning at the Supreme Court of Alabama - Clerk’s Office during the summers of 1999 and 1998, and they were an Americorps VISTA Volunteer at the CENTRAL ALABAMA FAIR HOUSING CENTER INC from August 1996 to July 1997.

Brian Hale received their Juris Doctor from The University of Alabama and their Bachelor of Science in Political Science and Theirtory from Auburn University at Montgomery.

They work with Catherine Molchan Donald - Public Health Administrative Officer, Brent M. Hatcher - Human Resources Director, and Mary G. McIntyre - Chief Medical Officer. Brian Hale reports to Scott Harris, State Health Officer.
