Catherine Reaves has diverse work experience in various roles and organizations. Catherine began their career as a Judicial Law Clerk for the State of Alabama 13th Judicial Circuit from August 2016 to May 2017. Following this, they worked as a District 2 Administrator for the Mobile County Commission from June 2017 to December 2021. In 2022, Catherine joined the University of South Alabama as an Associate Director of Governmental Relations, where they served until September 2022. Currently, they are the Vice President of Policy & State Affairs at the Alabama Port Authority, a role they assumed in September 2022.

Catherine Reaves has a diverse education history. Catherine began their academic journey at Auburn University from 2009 to 2013, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration. Following their undergraduate studies, they pursued a career in law and attended the University of Arkansas School of Law, Fayetteville in 2013. Although the specific degree they obtained during this time is not provided, it can be assumed that their coursework focused on law. Catherine later continued their legal education at Samford University from 2014 to 2016 and successfully completed a Doctor of Law (JD) degree.
