Haiyan Wu

Haiyan Wu has extensive work experience in the field of biosciences and bio-technology. They most recently worked as a Senior Scientist at Alamar Biosciences, Inc. starting in 2022. Prior to that, from 2021 to 2022, they held the same role at Rebus Biosystems.

Before joining Rebus Biosystems, from 2021 to 2021, Wu worked as a Scientist in R&D at Advanced Cell Diagnostics, a bio-techne brand. In this role, they developed innovative antibody-oligo conjugation strategies and optimized assay performance. They also contributed to the development of a novel branch-DNA based amplified multiplex protein and RNA co-detection assay, resulting in the filing of a US patent.

From 2018 to 2021, Wu worked at AAT Bioquest, first as a Staff Scientist and later as a Scientist. At AAT Bioquest, Wu developed protein-antibody conjugation methods and optimized the development of CD monoclonal antibody-dyes for immunofluorescence applications. They also designed an ultra-sensitive Immunohistochemical (IHC) Imaging method and delivered multiple related products.

Wu's earlier work experience includes serving as a Research Assistant at The University of Akron from 2011 to 2017, where they worked on the design and development of new chemistry for biosensing. They also worked as a Teaching Assistant, guiding undergraduate students in lab operations and as part of the Research Experience for Teachers (RET) Program in 2015.

Haiyan Wu holds a Bachelor's degree in Polymer science and engineering from Beijing University of Chemical Technology, which they attained in 2009. Haiyan then pursued a Master's degree in Materials science and Engineering, again at Beijing University of Chemical Technology, which they completed in 2011. Haiyan Wu furthered their education by obtaining a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Chemical Engineering from The University of Akron, which they successfully attained in 2017.
