Ishara Ariyapala

Ishara Ariyapala started their work experience as a Student at the University of Colombo in July 2010 and continued until February 2015. During this time, they also worked as a Teaching Assistant from March to June 2015. They then joined Indiana University Bloomington in August 2015 and served as a Research Volunteer until July 2016. From August 2016 to October 2021, Ishara worked as a Research Assistant at the same institution. Currently, they are employed at Alamar Biosciences, Inc. as a Scientist since October 2021 and have since been promoted to the position of Scientist II starting in January 2023.

Ishara Ariyapala completed their high school education at Mahanama Central College in Moneragala, focusing on Biology/Biological Sciences. They then pursued a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Colombo from 2010 to 2015. Later on, Ishara earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Genome, Cell and Developmental Biology from Indiana University Bloomington between 2016 and 2021. Additionally, Ishara obtained certifications in "Speaking Confidently and Effectively" and "Statistics Foundations: The Basics" from LinkedIn in July 2021.
