Qinyu Hao

Qinyu Hao has extensive work experience in the field of biosciences and scientific research. They currently hold the position of Scientist II at Alamar Biosciences, Inc. since March 2023, where they are responsible for conducting scientific research. Prior to this role, they worked as a Scientist at the same company since August 2021.

Before joining Alamar Biosciences, Inc., Qinyu served as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from May 2021 to August 2021. In this role, they investigated the molecular function of lncRNA MALAT1 in regulating alternative splicing, chromatin organization, and protein environment within nuclear speckles. They also conducted in vitro phase separation assays to explore the role of MALAT1 in liquid-liquid phase separation mechanisms. Additionally, they applied 3D-STORM to visualize sub-speckle structures at a 20-40 nm scale.

Furthermore, Qinyu gained teaching experience as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from August 2014 to May 2019. In this position, they led lab sessions and prepared reagents for the Introductory Microbiology Lab (MCB101), as well as led discussion sessions for the Cell, Tissue, and Development course (MCB252). Their teaching skills were highly regarded by students, consistently receiving excellent ratings.

Qinyu's work experience also includes a summer internship at Novozymes in May 2014, where they gained practical experience in the field.

Qinyu Hao earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, completing the program from 2013 to 2021. Prior to that, they attended Tsinghua University from 2010 to 2013, although no degree or field of study information was provided for this period. They also obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Molecular Biology from the Tokyo Institute of Technology from 2010 to 2013. Qinyu Hao began their undergraduate education at Peking University Health Science Center, earning a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from 2006 to 2010. Additionally, they obtained certification in "Introduction to Programming with MATLAB" from Coursera in June 2021.
