Thu Tran

Thu Tran Yoshimura has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. They most recently worked as an Associate Scientist at Alamar Biosciences, Inc. since June 2021. Prior to that, they worked at Seer as an Assay Development Research Associate III from February 2020 to June 2021. They also gained significant experience at Thermo Fisher Scientific, where they held the role of Formulation Scientist II from January 2016 to February 2020. At Thermo Fisher Scientific, they produced and purified enzyme conjugates for reagent manufacturing and performed various tasks related to process improvement and troubleshooting. Thu Tran Yoshimura has also worked in research positions, including as a Research Assistant at the Joint BioEnergy Institute, DOE Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory from July 2015 to December 2015, and as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the same institution from December 2014 to May 2015. They conducted DNA assembly of genes and operons for heterologous expression in E. Coli during these positions. In addition, Thu Tran Yoshimura has interned at the Interdisciplinary Center for Healthy Workplaces, where they reviewed and evaluated research studies and published related content on the center's website. They also worked as a Summer Research Intern at the Oxford University Clinical Research Unit, where they contributed to a project testing antimalarial drug resistance. Thu Tran Yoshimura has also demonstrated their versatility by working as a Food Service Worker at the International House at UC Berkeley, where they performed cashier and restocking duties.

Thu Tran Yoshimura received their Associate of Science (A.S.) degree in Chemistry from Chabot College, attending from 2010 to 2013. Thu then pursued their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of California, Berkeley from 2013 to 2015. In 2019, Thu enrolled in Kickstart Coding as a Software Engineering Apprentice, where their education is ongoing.
