Hye Ran (Helen) Shin has a diverse work experience in the field of pharmacy. Hye Ran (Helen) began their career at the University of Southern California, where they served as an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice from July 2015 to June 2016. During this time, they also completed a PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency in Ambulatory Care.

Following their time at USC, Hye Ran joined Sutter Health as a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist. Hye Ran (Helen) held two roles at Sutter Health, serving as a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in Transitions of Care from August 2016 to June 2017, and as a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in Ambulatory Care from August 2016 to May 2017.

In 2017, Hye Ran joined Alameda Health System as a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in Ambulatory Care, a position they currently hold.

Most recently, in November 2021, they joined Touro University College of Pharmacy as an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor.

Hye Ran (Helen) pursued a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree, specializing in Pharmacy, and completed their studies in 2015. Prior to that, from 2007 to 2011, they also attended the University of Southern California and obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and Neuroscience.

Hye Ran (Helen) Shin has also obtained several additional certifications throughout their career. In 2011, they became a Registered Intern Pharmacist through the California Board of Pharmacy. Later, in 2015, they earned the Registered Pharmacist designation from the same institution. Hye Ran (Helen) also completed the APhA Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery Certification in 2011.

Subsequently, Hye Ran (Helen) Shin gained further specialized training and certifications. In 2015, they acquired Physical Assessment Training from the University of Southern California, and in the same year, they obtained the Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification and the BLS CPR Certification from the American Heart Association. Moreover, they completed the Teaching Certificate at the University of Southern California in 2016.

Continuing their professional development, Hye Ran (Helen) Shin achieved Board Certified Ambulatory Care Pharmacist (BCACP) status in 2018 through the BPS - Board of Pharmacy Specialties. Most recently, in 2022, they became a Certified Diabetes Educator (CDCES) through the Certification Board for Diabetes Care and Education.
