Görkem Alapala

Görkem Alapala is the Vice Chairman at Alapala. Görkem has also previously served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors at Whirlpool Corporation and as a Group Manager - Manufacturing at Arçelik A.Ş.

Alapala has over 15 years of experience in manufacturing and has been instrumental in championing the implementation of lean manufacturing disciplines, including TPM and 6-Sigma methodologies. Under their leadership, the plant they oversaw at Arçelik A.Ş. received the “TPM World Class Award” in 2017, being the first plant in receiving this award in home appliances industry and being the 21 st plant in the world, in all industries.

Alapala has a proven track record in overseeing large operations and ensuring that customer requirements are met timeously and cost efficiently. Görkem is an expert in managing budgets, reducing costs, and improving quality control standards.

Görkem Alapala has a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from The Johns Hopkins University, an M.B.A. in Business Administration and Management from Salisbury University - Perdue School of Business, and a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from Istanbul Technical University. Görkem is also certified in Six Sigma Black Belt from Arçelik Global.
