Bill Merry

Bill Merry has over 20 years of work experience in the telecommunications industry. Bill started their career as a Journeyman at IBEW Local 1547, where they focused on emerging technologies such as triple- play, VoIP, Digital TV, and wireless networking. Bill also published technical white papers for IBM's OS/2 platform revisions and Microsoft's Windows family OS'. After that, they worked as an IT Supervisor at Kellogg Brown and Root for one year. Bill then joined Alaska Joint Electrical Apprenticeship and Training Trust as a Telecommunications Instructor, where they developed and delivered curriculum for inside and outside communications programs. Bill later joined Alaska Communications as a Network Engineer and eventually became a Foreman, Network Switch Engineering.

Bill Merry began their education in 1982 at Wasilla High School, where they studied until 1986. Bill then pursued an apprenticeship in technology at the University of Alaska Anchorage from 2008 to 2009, earning an Associates degree in Apprenticeship Technologies. From 2007 to 2010, Bill attended the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where they studied teaching and obtained a degree in Education. Lastly, in 2009, they attended the University of Michigan for a year and received a degree in Education with a focus on NTI (field of study not specified).
