William Timmins

Sr ISP Optical Equipment Planner Engineer at Alaska Communications

William Timmins has extensive work experience in the telecommunications industry. William started their career in 1991 at Sprint Nextel as a Transmission Engineer, where they planned and designed fiber optic transmission systems and managed project builds. William then worked at EPIK Communications, Level3 Communications, and progress telecom as an ISP Engineer, focusing on network engineering and installation. In 1999, they joined Level 3 Communications as a Senior ISP/Equipment Engineer and Planner/Project Manager, responsible for engineering networks and cable landing sites. In 2008, they moved to FiberLight, LLC as a Senior Optical Network/Planning Engineer before joining Alaska Communications in 2010. At Alaska Communications, they served as a Sr ISP Optical Equipment Planner/Engineer, handling the planning and design of fiber optic transmission systems and providing technical support to installation and operations personnel. Overall, William Timmins has expertise in fiber optics, network planning, project management, and equipment engineering in the telecommunications industry.

William Timmins has studied Electrical Engineering at the Community College of the Air Force. William has also pursued Business Administration and Management, General at Rollins College. In addition to their education, they obtained a certification in Advanced Fiber Optic Outside Plant from the Electronic Technicians Association International in April 2014.
