Mark Lurtsema has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Starting in 1998, they served as a Vice President at Citibank for two years. Mark then worked as a Senior Project Manager at nekema.com and Corillian Corporation from 2000 to 2003. From 2004 to 2006, they were the Manager of Enterprise Applications at Alaska USA FCU, where they were responsible for various systems and database management.

Following this, Lurtsema joined Computer Task Group in 2006 and held several positions, including Principal Consultant and Engagement Manager/Project Manager. Mark Lurtsema's education history begins in 1982 when they attended Salt Lake Community College for a year, studying science. In 1987, they obtained a certificate from the Computer Learning Center, specializing in COBOL, CICS, and JCL. From 1992 to 1994, they attended New Seminary, where they earned a degree in Ordination with a focus on religion. Lastly, from 1995 to 1999, Mark attended Bergen College, majoring in Philosophy/Religion but did not complete a degree.
