James Halbert

James Halbert is an experienced law enforcement professional currently serving as a Patrol Sergeant and Major Crimes Investigator with the Alaska State Troopers since July 2020. Halbert previously held the position of Lieutenant with the DeRidder Police Department, where responsibilities included serving as Chief of Detectives from November 2002 to October 2020. Early career experience includes a role as Assistant Manager at Walmart from May 1996 to November 2002. Academic qualifications include a Master of Public Safety from the University of Virginia, a Bachelor of Applied Science in Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement Administration from Capella University, and an Associate's degree in Criminal Justice/Police Science. Halbert is also an alumnus of the FBI National Academy.
