Saul Hymes

Saul Hymes is a highly experienced pediatric infectious disease specialist currently serving as the Division Chief of Pediatric Infectious Diseases at Albany Medical Center since August 2021. In this role, Saul oversees staff administration, program development, and the establishment of new clinical sites. Additionally, Saul co-directs the pediatric antimicrobial stewardship program, ensuring appropriate antibiotic use and education within the hospital. An associate professor of pediatrics, Saul provides clinical consultations and trains medical students and residents. Prior to Albany, Saul held significant roles at Stony Brook Medicine, where responsibilities included directing antimicrobial stewardship efforts and serving as an assistant professor. Saul's engagement with professional organizations includes positions as Social Media Editor for the Journal of the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society and the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society. Educational credentials include an MD from Columbia University and a BA in Music from the University of Chicago.
