Pamela Pitman Brown

Pamela Pitman Brown, PhD, CPG, FAGHE, is an Associate Professor at Albany State University since August 2021, with extensive experience in gerontology and sociology. As a consultant for the American Council on Education, Pamela has also contributed as President of the Georgia Sociological Association and Managing Editor for The Journal of Teaching Historically Underserved Student Populations. Prior roles include chairing the USG Board of Regents Academic Advisory Committee in sociology and serving as Secretary on the Southern Gerontological Society's Board of Directors. Additionally, Pamela has taken on leadership positions in prominent gerontology organizations such as Sigma Phi Omega and the Academy for Gerontology in Higher Education. Educational background includes a PhD in Social Gerontology from Miami University and ongoing studies for a Master of Arts in Criminal Justice from American Military University.
