Emily Pelliccia

Emily Pelliccia's work experience includes:

- Currently serving as the Deputy Chief of Community Risk & Resilience at Albemarle County, responsible for overseeing the Community Risk & Resilience division of Albemarle County Fire Rescue.

- Served as a Board Member and Equity & Diversity Committee Member at the American Red Cross.

- Spent 28 years with the City of Charlottesville Fire Department, retiring as the Deputy Chief of Emergency Preparedness. Held various positions within the department, including Firefighter, Engine/Aerial Operator, Captain, Battalion Chief, Deputy Chief, and Interim Fire Chief.

- Worked as a Tactical Paramedic at the City of Charlottesville Fire Department from 2002 to 2013.

- Held the role of Clinical Instructor at the University of Virginia Health System from 2000 to 2009.

Emily Pelliccia has a diverse education history. Emily earned a Master's degree in Homeland Security/Emergency Management from the Naval Postgraduate School from 2019 to 2022. Prior to that, they obtained a Graduate Certificate in Local Government Management from Virginia Tech from 2014 to 2015. Emily also holds a Bachelor's Degree in Emergency Management from the National Labor College from 2012 to 2014.

Before pursuing higher education, Emily attended the University of Virginia from 1991 to 1994, studying in the School of Architecture. Emily completed their high school education at St. Anne's-Belfield School from 1988 to 1991.

In addition to their degrees, Emily has obtained several certifications. Emily became a Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) through the International Association of Emergency Managers in August 2022. Prior to that, in January 2019, they obtained the SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) certification from SHRM. Emily also holds the National Registered Paramedic (NRP) certification from the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians, which they obtained in March 2000.
