Sam Reaves

Vice President, Senior Commercial Counsel, Lithium at Albemarle

Sam Reaves has a strong background in legal counsel and construction law. They began their career as an Attorney at Sirote & Permutt, P.C. in 1998 before moving to Kennedy Covington in 1999. In 2008, they joined K&L Gates as a Partner before transitioning to Troutman Sanders LLP in 2014, where they became a Partner specializing in construction law and real estate litigation. In 2018, Sam joined Albemarle Corporation as Vice President, Construction and Capital Projects Counsel, where they drafted and negotiated contracts for major capital projects worldwide. They currently hold the position of Vice President, Senior Commercial Counsel, Lithium at Albemarle. Their expertise includes construction contracts, design contracts, and commercial litigation.

Sam Reaves attended Emma Sanson High School. After graduating from high school, they went on to pursue higher education at The University of Alabama. During their time at the university, Sam obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Political Science and English. They further pursued their education and obtained a Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree in Law.
