Zhaorong Zhang

Zhaorong Zhang is a seasoned professional in materials and surface chemistry, currently serving as a Research and Technology Advisor at Albemarle Corporation since April 2021. With extensive experience as a Scientist at BP Group Technology from June 2007 to December 2020, Zhaorong led the development of catalyst extrudates and successfully transitioned one catalyst from benchtop to commercial scale. Prior roles include R&D Specialist at Claytec Inc. and Postdoctoral Researcher at Michigan State University, where Zhaorong focused on synthesizing and characterizing novel catalytic materials. Zhaorong holds a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from the Chinese Academy of Sciences and a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering from Tianjin University.
