Barbara Munroe

Barbara Munroe has extensive experience in corporate governance and legal affairs, currently serving as Board Chair at Veren and Director at ENMAX since June 2021. Munroe held the position of Vice Chair at the Alberta Cancer Foundation until September 2024. Previously, Munroe was a member of the Board of Directors at Crescent Point Energy and served WestJet as Executive Vice President, Corporate Services & General Counsel, where responsibilities included legal, government relations, regulatory, and corporate affairs. Additional roles include Asst General Counsel at Imperial Oil and Sr Vice President, General Counsel & Corporate Secretary at SMART Technologies. Munroe began her legal career as a corporate lawyer at Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP. Academically, Munroe earned a Doctor of Law (J.D) and a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance from the University of Calgary, along with an ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors.
