Les Barker

Les Barker is a Records Analyst at Alberta Electric System Operator (AESO) since September 2025, with extensive experience in records management and leadership roles in various organizations. Previously, Les served as the Manager of Records, Contracts, and Land Management at Capital Power Corporation from January 2009 to July 2025, where responsibilities included developing records retention programs, database management, policy creation, and budget oversight. Additionally, Les held leadership positions such as President of the Edmonton Interdistrict Youth Soccer Association and Past-President of the Hairsine Community League, while also serving as Sports Director for the CGSA. Early career experience includes supervisory roles in records management at CIBC and roles in administration within a family-run business. Les has completed multiple records management certifications and degrees in information governance and youth services.
