Geoff Mussell

Geoff Mussell has extensive experience in the energy regulatory sector, currently serving as an Inspector and Investigator at the Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) since September 2011, where responsibilities include investigating high-level incidents and ensuring compliance through thorough evidence collection and root cause analysis. Prior to AER, Geoff worked at the Energy Resources Conservation Board from October 2000 to September 2011, where roles included Assistant Team Leader, Senior Inspector/Technologist, and Field/Senior Inspector, focusing on planning, managing operational responsibilities, and building a surveillance team for the oil sands industry. Geoff holds a certification as a Senior Internal Corrosion Technologist for Pipelines from NACE (2009-2020) and completed high school education at Frank Maddock High School.
