Bonnie Chan-Maier

Bonnie Chan-Maier is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in public policy and program development, currently serving as the Director of Policy and Program Development for the Government of Alberta since July 2025. Prior to this role, Bonnie held various positions within the Government of Alberta, including Manager of Consulting Services at MNP and Senior Policy Advisor, with a strong focus on issues such as violence against women and girls, immigration, and multi-modal transportation. Bonnie's earlier career includes contributions as a Policy Analyst and Strategic Projects Analyst in different ministries, coupled with internships at the Centre for European Studies and the US Pan Asian American Chamber of Commerce. Educational qualifications include a Master of Arts in Political Science, a Graduate Certificate in Community-Based Research and Evaluation, and a Bachelor of Arts in English and Political Science from the University of Alberta.
