Karen Diaper

Karen Diaper is an experienced communications professional with a background in both health care and non-profit sectors. Currently serving as Assistant Director for the Government of Alberta since March 2024, Karen previously held key roles at Covenant Health Canada from August 2016 to March 2024, including Director of Communications and Senior Advisor - Communications. Covenant Health, recognized as Canada's largest Catholic health care organization, leverages Karen's expertise in influencing health outcomes through effective communication strategies. Prior to that, Karen managed communications at AUMA from November 2012 to May 2016 and worked with The Salvation Army from October 2001 to November 2012 as Assistant Public Relations Director. An alumnus of the University of Victoria, Karen earned a Diploma in Public Relations between 2009 and 2012, acquiring skills in media relations, government relations, strategic planning, event planning, and social media.
