Rebecca Giffen

Rebecca Giffen has a diverse and extensive work experience in the venture capital industry. Rebecca began their career in 1998 at BDC, where they held the role of Director of Fund Investments for 12 years. In this position, they were responsible for managing fund investments.

In 2010, Rebecca joined Alberta Enterprise Corporation as Vice-President of Investments. Alberta Enterprise is an independent fund of funds manager based in Alberta, Canada. Rebecca'srole involved investing in technology venture capital funds that finance early-stage, knowledge-based companies. Rebecca focused on venture capital fund managers with a presence in Alberta, making investments in Alberta and abroad.

During the same year, they also became a Principal at Venture Edge Consulting Inc., a consulting firm specializing in venture capital and technology industries.

Rebecca's dedication to the venture capital industry also led their to serve as the Executive Director and Board Member of the Venture Capital Association of Alberta (VCAA) from 2010 to 2021. Rebecca Giffen completed their education history as follows. In 1992, they enrolled at the University of Calgary and pursued a Bachelor of Commerce degree, which they successfully completed in 1997. Later, in 1999, they pursued a Master's in Business Administration (MBA) from the same institution, finishing the degree in 2002. In 2019, Rebecca furthered their education by enrolling in the Directors Education Program at the Institute of Corporate Directors. Rebecca completed the program in 2020 and obtained a certification with the same name from the Institute of Corporate Directors in July of that year.
