Shelby Coates (Rieger), CPA, currently serves as a Senior Regulatory Analyst specializing in Derivatives Oversight at the Alberta Securities Commission since November 2019. Prior experience includes roles as Senior Manager, Assurance Services, and Manager at MNP from September 2013 to November 2019, alongside earlier positions as an Accountant in Assurance Services and a summer student Public Co. Accountant. Shelby's accounting career began with an Accounts Payable Accountant position at Canadian Natural Resources Limited (CNRL) in 2011. Educationally, Shelby earned a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting from The University of Calgary (2008-2013) and completed the CPA Professional Education Program (2013-2015), resulting in a CPA designation focused on Assurance and Tax.
