Derek Dahmer

Derek Dahmer has over 12 years of work experience in software engineering. Derek started their career in 2008 as a Software Development Engineer at Microsoft. Derek then moved on to Vistaprint as a Software Engineer in 2009. That same year, they also became a Cofounder and Software Engineer at Prepfly, where they designed and developed educational LSAT, SAT, language and adaptive learning apps. In 2011, they became a Web Development Consultant for Self, and in 2012 they joined General Assemb.ly as a Full Stack Engineer. In 2014, they Cofounded Marvina, where they developed a subscription and delivery logistics platform with > 10% month over month growth in the highly regulated Medical Cannabis industry. In 2016, they became a Cofounder and Engineering Manager at EventGeek and a Senior Software Engineer at Airbnb, where they improved key conversion metrics by designing and developing multivariate tests for millions of weekly users booking through the web app. Finally, in 2020, they joined Scale AI as a Senior Software Engineer and in 2021 they became a Software Engineer at Alchemy.

Derek Dahmer attended the University of Pennsylvania from 2005 to 2009, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering (BSE) in Computer Science. In 2016, they attended Y Combinator.
