Josée Turcotte, LL.M, ICD.D., FCG, GCB.D, CCB.D has a vast and varied work experience spanning several organizations and roles. Josée is currently serving as the Chief Legal Officer at The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario. Previously, they held the position of Senior Vice-President, Corporate Secretary, and Head of Governance at HSBC, where they led corporate governance and secretariat functions for HSBC Bank Canada and its subsidiaries. Prior to this, they served as the Secretary to the Ontario Securities Commission, where they provided legal advice on securities law, corporate law, and conflict of interest matters.

Josée Turcotte has also worked as a Program Faculty Member and Lecturer at York University - Osgoode Hall Law School and as an Adjunct Professor of Law, specializing in Evidence Law, at the University of Ottawa - Faculty of Law | Civil Law Section. Josée has experience in competition law, having served as a Senior Legal Advisor at The Competition Tribunal and as a Competition Law Officer at the Competition Bureau of Canada.

Additionally, Josée Turcotte gained legal experience during their time at Fasken, where they completed their articling. Overall, they bring a wealth of legal expertise and leadership skills to their current role at The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario.

Josée Turcotte, LL.M, ICD.D., FCG, GCB.D, CCB.D has an extensive education history. Josée obtained a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree in Business Law from York University - Osgoode Hall Law School. Prior to that, they completed a Licence in Civil Law Degree at the University of Ottawa. Josée also holds a Doctor of Law (JD) degree in Common Law from the University of Ottawa - Faculty of Law.

In addition to their formal education, Josée Turcotte attended the Summer Law Program at the University of Oxford, where they studied Law.

Before pursuing higher education, they earned a Diplôme d'études collégiales (DEC) in Art et technologie des médias from ATM cegep de Jonquiere, graduating between 1990 and 1993 with a major in Journalism.

Josée Turcotte has also obtained multiple certifications throughout their career. Josée was granted the Climate Competent Boards Certificate and Designation and the ESG Global Competent Boards Designation by Competent Boards in June 2022 and January 2022, respectively. Furthermore, they obtained the Fellow of The Chartered Governance Institute of Canada (FCG) designation from The Chartered Governance Institute of Canada in 2017. Josée completed the ICD.D. Directors Education Program from the University of Toronto - Rotman School of Management in 2011. Additionally, they earned a Certificate in Advanced Alternative Dispute Resolution (Advanced Mediation Skills) and a Certificate in Alternative Dispute Resolution (Negotiation and Mediation Skills) from The University of Windsor Law School and The Stitt Feld Handy Group in 2009.

Lastly, Josée Turcotte has been granted licenses to practice as a Lawyer from both the Law Society of Ontario and the Barreau du Québec. The specific dates of obtaining these licenses are not provided.
