Andrew McIver

Andrew McIver has a strong background in synthetic chemistry and research. Andrew worked as a Principal Scientist at Alcon starting in 2023. Prior to that, they held the position of Senior Synthetic Chemist at Aerie Pharmaceuticals from 2021 to 2023. From 2019 to 2021, they worked as a Senior Research Scientist at Sterling Pharma Solutions. Andrew also has experience as a Research Scientist at Chimerix, Inc., where they held various roles from 2015 to 2019. Andrew has also worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Center for Integrative Chemical Biology and Drug Discovery in the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy from 2012 to 2015. Before that, they were a Research Assistant at North Carolina State University from 2009 to 2012. Andrew has also worked as a Teaching Assistant in Organic Chemistry at North Carolina State University, UC San Diego, and UNC Wilmington.

Andrew McIver has a PhD in Organic Chemistry from North Carolina State University, which they obtained from 2007 to 2012. Prior to that, they completed their M.S. in Chemistry from the University of North Carolina Wilmington from 2004 to 2006. Andrew also holds a B.S. degree in Chemistry, with a focus on organic chemistry, from the University of North Carolina Wilmington, which they received from 2000 to 2004.
