Mark H. has a diverse work experience in the field of data science and analytics. Zhiqiang (Mark) began their career at Pharmarcy College at the University of Toledo as a Visiting Scholar in 2009. Zhiqiang (Mark) then joined Pharmaron as an Analytics Manager from 2011 to 2013.

In 2013, Mark H. moved to UT Southwestern Medical Center, where they held multiple roles. Zhiqiang (Mark) started as a Postdoc and Data Scientist, leading a $1.2M NIH project focused on predicting protein structures and their mutational functions. During their time there, they utilized advanced algorithms and visualization tools to optimize protein binding affinity and validate predictions in cell assays. Later, they became an Instructor funded by Chan-Zuckerberg and led a computational project to predict novel Alzheimer's drug targets.

Most recently, Mark H. joined Alcon in 2021 as a Principal Data Scientist. Zhiqiang (Mark) has been collaborating with various teams within the company, including Marketing, R&D Devops, and Corporate legal teams, to solve practical business problems. Their expertise lies in data collection, cleaning, preprocessing, exploratory data analysis, modeling, evaluation, visualization, deployment, and effective communication with stakeholders.

Zhiqiang (Mark) H. holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Biophysics and Bioinformatics from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Institute of Biophysics, which they obtained from 2006 to 2013. In addition, they have obtained various certifications related to Amazon Web Services (AWS) including "AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate" from Amazon Web Services (AWS), as well as several certification preparations from LinkedIn.
