Sam is currently serving as the president of Alcove9. Prior to starting Alcove9, Sam ran the Aerospace and Defense business unit at Tata Technologies in North America where he started there back in January 1997. During his stint at Tata Technologies, formerly known as INCAT, Sam occupied many roles starting as a senior consultant in the design and analysis field, then leading a team of PLM solution architects that defined processes and best practices for customers in the PLM and CAD/CAM areas. Since 2003 and up until he left Tata Technologies in 2011 he was primarily involved in expanding Tata Technologies' aerospace and defense business in North America.
Sam received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from Oklahoma State University. Then he went on to earn his Ph.D. in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1993 in the area of error detection and recovery in automated manufacturing assembly cells. After which he helped start a business in Detroit, Michigan designing and manufacturing mass air flow sensors for aftermarket, high-performance vehicles. He was also involved in designing automotive products like electromechanical sensors for ABS brake modules, trailer brakes, and powertrain components.
