Aldgate Connect BID
Ben Campion serves as the Commercial Director at Essex Wildlife Trust since November 2024 and is also the Director at Aldgate Connect BID, a position held since September 2022. Previously, Ben held multiple roles at Toynbee Hall from June 2018 to November 2024, including Director of Toynbee Hall Trading and Head of Commercial and Operations. Between December 2015 and October 2022, Ben worked at Begin Anywhere as a Generalist and at ACTIVE Network as a Business Development professional, supporting a diverse range of clients in the sports sector. Additional experience includes consulting for London Sport and serving as VP of Business Development at upmysport. Earlier career highlights include managing national development at British Fencing, contributing to a substantial increase in participation, and holding the position of Bar Manager at Remenham Club. Ben holds a BSc in Sport and Exercise Science from Loughborough University.

Aldgate Connect BID
As Aldgate’s dedicated Business Improvement District (BID), we work in collaboration with both The City of London and Tower Hamlets to make our slice of East London more welcoming, appealing, protected and stronger for all. Since forming in April 2020, the BID has attracted new visitors with a year-round events programme, featuring Easter egg hunts, craft workshops, and winter and summer festivals; contributed to the launch of both the In the City app and City Gift Card to encourage local spending; supported local community initiatives and charities, including Aldgate’s local food bank; and improved the public realm through several greening and art projects.
