Josh Axelrod has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Josh started their career as a Senior Transmission Engineer at PacifiCorp. Josh then moved on to work at the Western Electricity Coordinating Council, where they served as the NERC CIP Audits and Investigation Team Lead and Senior Compliance Engineer. In 2010, they joined Encari as the Director of Critical Infrastructure Protection, focusing on Electric Sector Cybersecurity and NERC CIP Regulatory Compliance services. From 2011 to 2012, they worked at AlertEnterprise in Product Development, Engineering, and Services. Josh then became an Independent Consultant, specializing in IT/OT/Business Security and Risk Management. In 2012, they joined EY as a Principal in the Advisory Practice, leading a team that provides security services across various sectors. Starting from 2019, they served as a Member of the Board of Advisors at iUrban Teen and the Oregon State University College of Business. Most recently, Josh worked at Amazon Web Services (AWS) as the Director of Security Assurance CTO and General Manager for the AWS Artifact Service. At AWS, they led a team responsible for scaling automated security and compliance assurance. In 2023, Josh will join Aldrich as the Chief Operating Officer.

Josh Axelrod has a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Nuclear Engineering from Oregon State University, which they obtained between 2003 and 2006. In addition, they completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Marylhurst University, which they pursued from 2014 to 2016. Apart from their formal education, Josh has obtained various certifications in the field of information technology and cybersecurity. These include the Certified Data Privacy Solutions Engineer certification from ISACA in April 2021, the Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional certification from the SANS Institute in July 2014, and the Certified Information Security Manager® (CISM), Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control™ (CRISC), Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT® (CGEIT), Information Systems Security Architecture Professional (ISSAP®), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP®), and Certified Information Systems Auditor® (CISA) certifications from various institutions between 2010 and 2014.
