Kai Rune Gjervik

Kai Rune Gjervik has extensive experience in the maritime industry, currently serving as Driftsteknisk leder and Rådhusforvalter at Ålesund kommune since November 2018. Previously, Kai worked as Chief Engineer for Volstad Management on the Oceanic Endeavour for a brief period in 2018. From 2008 to 2018, Kai held multiple Chief Engineer positions with Volstad Maritime, including on vessels such as the Geo Caspian, OSCV Grand Canyon II, and Deep Cygnus. Earlier in the career, Kai gained experience as 1st engineer on M/V Volantis and 2nd engineer on M/S Nordkyn, along with 1st engineer duties on M/S Nordjarl through Sætre Crewing from 2004 to 2008. Educationally, Kai obtained a technical college degree in Chief engineering from Ålesund Maritime Skole between 2001 and 2003.
